An outdoor kitchen is masonry with utilities running through it, and the order of work decides whether it comes out right. Gas line, electrical conduit and drain go in before the block frame closes up, the appliance openings are built to the manufacturer’s exact cutout dimensions, and the counter is templated after the frame is set rather than ordered from a drawing. Everything is framed in reinforced block or steel stud and faced in stone, brick or stucco to match the house. These builds usually sit on a paved surface, so we coordinate them with the Pavers or slab work rather than dropping an island onto paving that was never designed to carry it.

How We Work
From the first walkthrough to the final cleanup, the same crew is on your property.
1. Layout, appliances and utilities
We plan the working triangle around where the smoke goes and where people stand, confirm the appliance list so the openings are exact, and map the gas, electrical and water runs. Anything with gas or electrical gets a permit, which we file.
2. Base, frame and rough-in
A footing or reinforced slab goes in first, since an island on unsupported paving will settle. Then the block or steel frame goes up with the utilities sleeved through it, and the rough-in is inspected before anything is closed.
3. Veneer, counters and commissioning
Stone, brick or stucco goes on the frame, the counter is templated and set, appliances are installed and connected, and we fire everything up with you present. You get the manuals, the shutoff locations and a written care note for the stone and the counter.

Outdoor kitchen cost is mostly appliances and counter material, with the masonry a smaller share than people expect:
- A basic built-in outdoor kitchen with a grill, countertop and storage starts around $5,000 to $15,000.
- Custom builds with stone veneer, pizza ovens, sinks and refrigeration run $20,000 to $50,000 or more.
- Appliances are yours to choose and are usually a third or more of the budget. We build to whatever you select.
- Utilities. A gas run from a meter forty feet away is minor. Trenching a hundred feet with an electrical subpanel is not.
- Counter material. Granite is the practical benchmark; concrete counters can be formed on site; exotic stone climbs quickly.
- Fireplaces and chimneys are priced separately from cooking islands, since a full masonry fireplace is a structure in its own right.
